Possession of archery equipment and rifle?

Is it legal to have in your possession while hunting during firearms season, a bow or crossbow as well as your rifle. I'm thinking this was illegal at one time but can't find an answer in the hunting guide. Purely for the case where a legal deer shows up out of bow range..

It is illegal during the archery only deer season but is fine in the G/M/A season if you have both the bow and gun big game licenses to cover the weapons.
