I have a Herter's single stage press which was my Dad's that I currently reload with. It is a early 1960's vintage and is built like a battleship - no worries about ever wearing it out! However, I would like for Santa to bring me a turret press to do some higher volume 223 and 45 ACP reloading. I have never used a turret press, so any advice recommending one over another would be appreciated. I am not too concerned with price (Santa is being very generous this year!) but don't really want to step up to a progressive press. Anything that would tip Santa's decision to a particular brand / model?

Outstanding advice here^^^^^

I have the 550B and load about 400 rounds per hour in .45ACP and 5.56 When I load .308 I weigh and pour my powder 1 case at a time but use the other stations in the press for the other functions.

I have the Lee Turret press. Once it is "tuned in", there are no problems. If you are looking at two loads, you can set up two disks.

If'n you go with the the value kit (http://leeprecision.com/value-4-hole-turret-press-kit.html), I would reccomend getting the Auto disk riser and the Lee Charge bar (replace the disks in the Auto Disk Powder Measure).
