Bison tongue that is. \:D \:D Had a little sample last night and it was incredible. Going back tonight for a meal with at least two TnDeer members. Should be a good time...

Anybody else ever tried it?

The one time I had beef tongue, I wasn't impressed with the texture. I'm guessing Poser is one of those fellow members...

That would be correct sir...

I would say the texture is close to beef tongue but the taste is different...We have a chef at a local restaurant/bar preparing it. We'll find out how when we get there. Last night he said something about a salad...but who knows. \:D \:D

He made a sandwich with roasted bell peppers and a fried egg on top. It was one of the best tasting meats I'd ever tasted. Think long slow cooked roast. Will definitely be eating this again.

Its possible that it will be a menu item, but in this case, we brought the tongue in because we were talking about cooking up some tongue a couple of weeks ago and the cook overheard the conversation and told us to bring one in. The texture of tongue is just amazing. It is a severely underrated cut of meat in contemporary American culture.

The only tongue I've ever eaten was in a taco at La Guadalupana. It just seemed mealy to me.
