I agree. I think if the bolt closed all the way, the gun is not an issue. I believe it is the ammo. As mentioned above, I would call Remington to ask about problems with the lot # and keep the shells separate.

I would check the chamber and barrel with a light to make sure there are no obstructions of any kind and get another box of ammo and shoot a round to see how it does.

If there are no problems, I would chalk it up to ammo and sue the crap out of Remington.

I would really check the barrel, you said you had a hang fire then the next two case's bulged, I bet your hang fire never came out of your barrel and you pumped 2 more rounds into the back of it.

I pulled the hangfire round out and made sure there was nothing in the barrel.

If he had one stick he would have known it. And may not have been around to tell about it.

I would say if that hang fire was still in the barrel of the gun it would have done alot more damage to the gun.

Are you POSITIVE your shooting the correct rounds? Check the markings on the barrel vs the shells. Not trying to insult you.

Randy we were typing and thinking the same thing. That gun would have turned into a pipe bomb.

I would check the bolt face. Make sure it looks ok. If it does I would try different brand of ammo.

You could also take the stock off and check the chamber for a bulge with a micrometer.

One thing I did notice that makes me think it's gonna be expensive is that on the casings with the bulge the pin struck the primers off center.
