Depends upon how much meat you gonna be grinding. For home use, meaning 20-40 pounds of venison, I use my Wife's Kitchen Aid mixer with the front-attached grinding unit. One pass coarse, one pass not so coarse. It is not fast but I have kids to do this kind of work. It is a bit hard to clean. No, it is a PIA to clean. It is something I would be very interested in before I bought a grinder of any type, how far apart can I take it to get it clean.

I bought one several yrs ago at Dick's. Heavy duty rated and made by Northeast. It will grind anything you throw down its throat, easily grind 6-8 lbs a min.
Clean up is a breeze, the entire grinder head assembly comes off the motor and breaks down into @ 5-6 pieces for simple easy cleaning in the sink. (I purchased a baby bottle brush to clean the inside of the grinder throats, makes cleaning easier)

How many deer are you planning on grinding up at once?

Target has the Attachment for the Kitchen Aid mixers for $40. I attached it to my 6qt/575 watt mixer and gave it a try.

Ground up about 35lbs. this afternoon. took less than an hour to grind. Was trimming as I went along, so could have went a little faster with more prep work. Made Italian Sausage, Breakfast Sausage, Chili meat and fine ground meat. All were ground twice except for Chili meat.

I don't think it will hold up doing this every day, but 2 or 3 times a year it should last a few years. It comes apart, so cleaning was easy and it is dishwasher safe.

It is not commercial grade, but it will work for home use.

If the meat is not cold or real soft, it doesn't work too well. Meat needs to be frozen but flexible for fast results.

Just an FYI, you will shorten the lifespan of your Kitchen Aid mixer greatly by using the grinder attachment for that type of grinding. In the long run, it is easier and less expensive to just purchase a decent meat grinder.
