I was walking to my stand in the dark and came to the pond on my lease and heard a lot of movement. I thought it had to be deer and then I heard a very loud scream like a bobcat or something that scared the mess out of me. I ended up hunting about 300 yards from the pond. After my hunt I walked out by the pond an saw this huge rub on an 8 inch around tree. My question is do you think this is from a deer or a cat? I have yet to see a buck at this property and I only have a small 6pt on cam. Expert opinions welcome.

oh that is just a large male cougar sign post, TWRA released them into your woods
on a serious note are there any tine marks from antlers? usually on a tree like that you can see where the tines scratched on odd angles if it was a buck.

Obviously a marking from the common house cat.....then again, I suppose it could be a deer rub.
