Opening weekend in North Williamson we had a lot of action. Since the first weekend it has been pretty dead. I watched a doe try to get away from her fawn yesterday afternoon and right after shooting light ended I had a big buck come through trailing her. The last few days I have been trying to locate mature deer locked down with does but have been unsuccessful.

Exactly. The first week was the cruising/seeking phase. Now you are in "lockdown" (peak breeding). Give it a few more days and peak breeding will be coming to an end, increasing competition between older bucks for breeding rights, which will produce more daylight chases.

Sure hope they're going strong this weekend. Woluld love to get a big boy down. I'm tired of watching all these 2.5 YO 8 points walk around. Not to mention the 7 mag is a whole lot deadlier than the old muzzle loader, and more reliable too, so I dont have to worry about being within the 150 yard range.

I thought I found a breeding couple this morning when I watched a young buck act like he was being forced out of the tall CPR about 5 times. I slipped down to the area but never could locate any deer nor smell any deer. I still can't figure out what he was doing.
