Took me 5 years. Then I killed two in 1 week. My season is going downhill fast. My private land that I had hopes for is being overrun with trespassers. I actually hunted pt19 Sunday and saw nothing. Only saw 4 trucks there Sunday evening. Hang in there, your time will come.

Yea this is my first season to hunt. I'm in unit l on private land some when I go with a friend to his club and some at wolf river. I've had 4 all day sits and 14 hunts and I have not even seen a deer from stand once this year. I was hoping I was going to get a deer, any deer before I closed on my house and all that work I have to do started but it isn't looking good. It is very disheartening to go and not connect or not see anything. The one thing that keeps me going is that it is called hunting for a reason. If it was easy it would be called killing. I for one just love being in the woods. If I haven't seen anything and I can find something cool on the way back to the truck it's all good. Not to mention time alone that is peaceful without nagging from your old lady is always a positive!!

I started hunting 3 years ago at the urging of my then 9 year old daughter. We saw nothing our first year. After season closed i was invited to go to Alabama for a 3 day hunt. I killed my first deer (a doe) and i was hooked. Our second season my daughter got a 6 point first then a doe on Christmas Day. Me nothing. This year my daughter got a 5 point last day of juvy and i have missed does with a crossbow and a muzzle loader. As long as my daughter still has a interest i am going to take her. As far as me, i am like Inkstainz, i like being in the woods and i just know my time is coming.

Well I know one thing 93civEJ1 it took me 5 tries at squirrel hunting before I got one and boy was it rewarding when I finally did!!
