I just found out they have a place in Bartlett. Anyone know if its the same as the famous place known for its spicy chicken in Downtown Memphis?

The one in Bartlett has actually been there for quite awhile, at least if you're talking about the one on Gtown near 64. A friend of mine opened that franchise many years ago, but ended up selling it. All of them have the same chicken, but the side items might vary by location.

We use to have one here in Dyersburg. I miss that place! They had some dang good chitlins in the fall also!

I went to the one in Nashville and was extremely disappointed. I doubt I will ever go back. The service was horrible and some of the prices were inflated. We got a side of fried pickle spears and we got 6 spears for $6. The fried tomatoes were about as economical. The cole slaw and potato salad tasted like they bought them next store at the Kroger deli and the beans were straight from a can. The chicken was good but they don't give you the option as to the heat level like the one in Memphis.

Actually, the "famous" place Downtown is a spinoff franchise of the world famous original in Mason, TN. All of the Gus's locations in Shelby County get their batter from Gus in Mason.
