Been hunting this deer for 2 days. Got 1 pic of him in i believe it was late Aug or very early September. That was the only pic we had of him so he kind of got put on the back burner because we were getting pics of some more good ones. Early mz my dad killed the biggest one we had on cam, then saturday evening had the 9pt we had on cam come in. Could have shot him at 75yds in some thick woods but decided to pass because i couldnt get a real good look at him. 20 mins later my brother killed him. That same evening my dad seen this buck. But hes tagged out and couldnt kill him \:D

So yesterday morning i hunted where Dad had seen him. Hunted my ground blind in a grass field on the edge of a pine thicket. Seen a few does that was it. Hunted a stand in the woods close to the pine thicket yesterday evening and seen one doe.

This morning i woke up at 3:30 and it was raining and windy. I thought i can go sit in my blind but i will still get wet because of the wind. So i went back to bed. Woke up at 7, looked out it was barely sprinkling. Big 8's text me and said deer were moving, so i jumped in the truck and headed out. Stopped and had breakfast and pulled up at my hunting spot at 8:30. I had just stepped out of the truck and seen him come from the powerline on us and cross the rd. I hurried got ready and climbed in the stand by the pine thicket where he came from hoping hed circle around. Seen 2 small bucks at 10, and at 11:30 my breakfast hit me and i had to hi tail it back to the truck \:D

After that Flipped a coin as to go to my ground blind or another shooter house we had. Best out of 3 and my ground blind won the bet. Was settled in about 12. Seen my first deer at 3:50, a spike. 20 mins later a 3pt, 10 mins after that 2 does. Then at 4:50 i seen him sneaking up the edge of the woods heading to my salt lick, or to a scrape right beside it. Dont know which one because i didnt give him time to get there. I knew it was him as soon as i seen him. He was walking at a steady pace, I stopped him, he looked at me, i said good g2, g3s and brows. Boom. Dropped in his tracks and never moved another muscle.

8pt, 17 1/2 inside spread, 21.5" main beams, 10.5" g2's, 8" g3's. Taped him at 135.5. My 2nd biggest buck to date.

Got a nice taxidermy bill for the yr with my 132" 11pt in Tn and now this one. But hey its worth it \:\)

Been a great year of hunting so far.Today started my 2 week vacation, this is the 2nd year in a row that i tagged out on first day of vacation. Will probably head to Jackson and hunt with my cousin this weekend. Sorry for the long read. Hope yall enjoyed.
