If the deer is a trophy to you shoot. I never judge someone by what they kill or not. I am a meat hunter till the freezer is full.

honestly it all depends on the location, and the hunter...on our private farm it has to have monster 6point or at least 8points to even think of shooting(cause we know there are monsters around...yet i've got a spot on public land(alot of pressure where i hunt) im happy just to kill a deer for some meat!

That's the same deer. Good thing you didn't shoot it. Next year he will be something you will be very proud of.

I have a small 2 year old 7pt. that beds in a VERY small patch of trees next to my house(literally 20ft. away), and every evening around 1530hrs. he takes a walk through my front yard to get to the big woods.
He'll be a good lookin deer next year if he makes it. I've stopped myself from shooting him probably 30 times this season alone. I figure the karma will come back around in a positive way sooner or later.
Eye of the beholder, as already stated. Nothing wrong with that!

I can't begin to tell you how many bucks like those I've passed on and gone buckless for the year. If your area has better bucks than those you passed and taking those type bucks is what makes you happy then you did good. You just have to weigh realistic expectations against what's actually available. Even at that a "releif valve" buck every now and then doesn't hurt.

Nope...2 different deer. I have multiple pictures of them and the one on top is missing the right G tine. I've had them out in front of me at the same time.
