I read a post on here a few days ago that someone had trouble with the cva wolf hammer not locking back. Ive got 3 family members having the same trouble now with their m/l. I know 2 of them are meticulous about cleaning their guns. So I dont think that is the problem. CVA customer service is not offering any help. Any one heard of a fix or cause of this problem. I would rather not hear "you get what you pay for" because all three guns worked flawless for the first 2-3 seasons.

i find it hard to believe that CS isn't helping out.

Can you go into a little more detail about what primers you are using and if this is the new wolf or the older model.

As hard as it is to believe ....I contacted cva customer service the first time it happend, I was told it was a cleaning issue, that oil and debris were getting into the trigger mech area and not letting the barrel lock thus not letting the hammer lock back. I know 2 of them are using winchester primers. I know all 3 of the guns were bought 3 years ago

thats what i was thinking.

I'd just break the action open and then see if the hammer cocks. Ive heard of this before but never found out what the fix was.

Don't worry, It really isn't that hard to believe that their customer service is worthless.

Cva should be helping him with his problem. They tell him it is a cleaning issue and he says that two of the owners of these guns are meticulous about cleaning them. And now you are the one helping which is nice but that doesn't make Cva's customer service worth a dime. It just makes what your doing good for you and bad for them. Unless of course you work for Cva and I did not assume that in which case is my error.

ok took breach plug out opened and closed it several times it cocked everytime but the last. and it wanted to catch but didnt. Think I found the problem. I took my FIL's completely apart the trigger, hammer and barrel mech were covered in surface rust. Sprayed the parts down with bullfrog and cleaned them with 6000 grit sand paper. Got them drying under a blow dryer. Hope this is it!!
