As with the lead sled the shooter has as little effect on the shot as possible.

Exactly. When he shoots from the rest essentially all hes touching is the trigger. The rifle is free to muzzle jump when he shoots and the barrel rises before the bullet leaves the barrel causing the poi to rise. When shooting off-hand he grips the forearm and muzzle jump is minimized thus moving his poi down.

Now wait a minute folks lol

I do grip the fore end stock when shooting off the sled.

I think it's me not following through the shot. I might be letting the barrel fall low at the moment I pull the trigger.

Time to practice!

Really guys the bullet is gone before the barrel jumps. The lead sled does change poi on most guns.

lead sled is waste of money IMO

I have read critical remarks about led sled usage being detrimental to many scopes. Seems the recoil is controlled from the gun and th e reverberation is going thru the scope and destroying it internally. Guess that recoil has to effect something. Anyway, this is what i have read in reviews. Any one experience this? \:\(

keep in mind, the stories you hear are the ones loaded down with 50-75lbs worth of sand.

You might also consider getting your trigger weight adjusted. A lot of people have accuracy problems with muzzleloaders because they have heavy trigger pulls along with an (obviously) longer shot sequence due to the slight delay in powder ignition.

Fix the things you can, and then work on yourself \:\)
