It's the NY Times, so more than likely the author has a liberal bias. Nevertheless, these are the same kind of social and voting trends that have greatly diminished the influence of Christianity throughout Europe. It appears that secularism is on the rise big time in the US. It will be interesting to see how the GOP and their allies in the conservative Christian community attempt to address these negative trends in the next election.
