What an awesome morning it was to be in a buddy stand with my beautiful girlfriend sitting beside me. I am dying for her to kill her first deer , and i just knew this was gonna be the morning. We sat til 845 and she said she needed to go pee , so i told her i was about ready anyways because we hadnt seen anything and we have alot to get done today. So while she is on the ground doing her buisness and im getting my pack and gun ready to climb down here comes a big doe casually walking up to the salt lick i put out last year. I thought oh no , i cant shoot this deer , this was supposed to be christinas deer. So with her pants around her ankles i get her attention , lol. Very slowly and as quietly as possible she gets her clothes back where theyre supposed to be and takes a couple steps toward the stand. Well , the old doe happens to catch her movement and immediately starts birddogging christina , lol. At this point im thinking what the heck , nothing to lose now , so i motion for christina to climb ob up. Well this deer just stands watching , and lets her get in the stand and take the gun from me. By this time im pretty sure ive had 23 heart attacks and 17 strokes , just waiting for that big white bye bye. But it never happened . So this big doe is standing here broadside at 50 yards begging to be shot , i hear the hammer come back , and i wait for the smoke , and i wait and wait and wait , then i hear "i cant see her in the scope ". WHAT!!!! Well , old long nose , had finally had enough at that point and trotted off into a thicket , im sure laughing at the expression on my face and the funny noises i was making.

I was pretty ill by the time the dust had settled , so i told christina to climb down before i started crying or cussing or just decided to jump.

I know i make her nervous , but i really want to see her kill one in the worst way possible. And i cant for the life of me understand how some
people have such a hard time finding their target in a scope.

Oh well , maybe she'll get one this afternoon.

Just don't push her. She'll get it done, and you'll be glad you didn't make her mad.

Yea maybe you should let her go out on her own and see if she can do it without her feeling pressure from you.

Have her keep both eyes open until she finds it in the scope; amazing how much better that works.

Hi....its "her" \:\) And all joking aside......i know that you are beyond frustrated phillip- i am too. I dont know how i have caught on so quickly to the outdoors. And i think with that its hard to keep in mind i have not been hunting since childhood and i have literally only shot not even a couple dozen times all firearms combined. To top it all off for whatever reason i do everything backwards of what every hunter including you has been taught since forever.

I can seriously shoot the smallest of targets off sage grass in a field using iron sights, but i cant hit a huge target right in front of me.
I hit a target 50x in a row the very first time in my life i picked up a compound bow-shooting right handed using only my left eye, but a sighted in gun with a scope-couldnt even hit an elephant!
I dont know why, but i promise you one thing- i wont quit. I am not a quitter and i love hunting more than i could have thought possible! What hurts my heart the most is not the frustration of not succeeding, getting the pay off of working so hard, or getting an opportunity and leaving empty handed. Its that look of disappointment written all over my boyfriends face- i let him down. In addition to letting myself down because i love it so much and i try hard..... to ultimately fail. I will just keep trying and when it is meant to be it will be. My boyfriend has taught me so much about the outdoors and about life. I am so blessed that he introduced me to the outdoors and that he loves me so much that at every opportunity he is by my side helping me learn and grow. Maybe Phillip's patience will hold until my time comes \:\)

Once you get a little more time under your belt it will all come together and then it will just be second nature. Hang in there it will happen.

It will come.... Things will fall into place and it will happen. For most of us, there were some silly things that prevented success in hunts, especially when we 1st got started.
