I know this has probably been addressed before, but what are my rights and rememdies as far as persons rabbit hunting / running dogs on my property? I have about 140 acres in a very rural area and this is a common problem for me, especially on a nice day like today. They will often also drive their four wheelers (I hate four wheelers) over onto my property. In the past people have claimed to have permission to hunt the adjoining property. I only want peaceful enjoyment of my land, and when I go into my woods, I like to think I am the only person there.
Maybe another good question is what can I NOT do?

Actually in the State of TN we have a leash law, the owner is responsible for their dog tresspassing.

Sorry Chris, but you are incorrect. Tennessee's "leash law" does not apply to dog's "on a hunt or chase".
The "hunters" are trespassing.

Leash Law/Off-Leash Areas Sec. 6-32. Animals at large.
(a) No person owning or having possession, charge, care, custody or control of any animal shall cause, permit or allow the animal to stray or in any manner to run at large in or upon any public street, sidewalk or park or upon the property of another. (b) Every person owning or having possession, charge, care, custody or control of any animal shall keep such animal exclusively upon his own premises; provided, however, that such animal may be off such premises if it is under the direct control of a competent person. (c) This section shall not apply to a dog on a hunt or chase, nor a dog guarding or driving stock. This section shall not apply to any animal participating in an organized animal show.
Wow guess you are right, but I do remember they is a law that deals with them.

The people and there dogs on you land is a law violation and TWRA can handle it. You can also take them to civil court.
If you shoot the dog you could end up in civil court now you may be able to beet any civil charge if TN has a protection of your livestock and you just happen to raise rabbits
If this is common accurance the GW should be able to get them and if you can get video of them it always helps along with tag numbers.

Thanks - I wasn't sure if the game warden or county sherrif would be the party to involve. I figued it was not proper to feed them to the buzzards.
