What kind of action are you all seeing right now in your pic? Scrapes seem dead here now. How about the food plot pics?

Still hitting the scrape hard as of last weekend (Nov. 10-11). However, we did see signs of breeding starting, so peak breeding is just days away, and during peak breeding, expect to see scrapes go dead (although cameras will show that young bucks are still visiting them, but not working them other than using the over-hanging limb).

In Hickman yesterday 11/11, I watched a 2 1/2 separate a doe from 4 other does and she just bedded right in a creek bed. He went about 10 yards from her and laid down and had all eyes on her for over an hour. After that hour, he just got up and walked off, while keep looking over his back at her. When he got out of site, she got up and walked up the hollow towards me.
It looked to me that she was hot at first, but after witnessing all that, I think she wasn't quite in estrous, but will be ANY TIME! Come Thursday, I have 11 of the next 12 days off! Hickman is always hot around the 16th ever year in our location. I just hope the weather cooperates as its supposed to

On my place, traditionally, peak breeding and "lockdown" occurs Nov. 12-19. Everything looks right on schedule for that occur again this year. We usually see chasing just before and just after lockdown, with slightly more chasing just after lockdown. I suspect Thanksgiving week will be good for us.

It's so odd that ours is about 2 weeks after yours. But it has been traditionally. Our lockdown is usually 11/25 to the first day or two of December. Then around the 4th, they start chasing hard again. It works out for us as the 2nd weekend of muzzy, they are cruising and hitting scrapes hard, then at the start of rifle, they are all out getting it. And it's over thanksgiving, so as much as I work, it helps to say the least.
What's funny is, if you go north of our place just 10-15 miles, they are 7-10 days before us. I have a buddy that keeps me up to date with what's going on. There seems to be about a 10 mile radius of our property that is 10 days later than the surrounding areas.

Heck, Cathole Hunting Club ias virtually my next-door neighbor, and their peak breeding is several days to a week later than on my place. My cousins' property is 5-7 air miles south of my place and their peak breeding is at least a week later.
Funny thing is, 20 years ago, our peak breeding was traditionally Nov. 20-27. However, as we began improving the herd dynamics on our place, and the changes in hunting regulations and hunter attitude have changed over time (both of which have improved the dynamics of the entire area), our peak breeding has slowly shifted forwards in date until it stabilized about 6 years ago at its current timing.

Same here. Our farm seems to be the first to have any chasing on it in our area.
