Well, the few days I have been able to bow hunt the archery season just saw a couple of spikes and a couple of does and several smallish bears. Then the archery bear season closed and guess what! I had three boars come with in 15 yards of my stand, one was a good 400 pounds+ and the other two where 300 or better. I hope that bigone shows up for gun season. A 140 class buck and a 400 pound bear would make for a good year!

What fun it would be, dragging a 400 pounder out of the woods...I'd be out for 2 days straight moving it a few feet at a time lol. Be good and rotten by the time I got him out.

It took myself and a friend 6 1/2 hrs to drag out a 384 lb bear. I will just have to pay a fine if it's illegal to quarter up a bear because I won't do that again. I can carry a 150 lb bear by myself but, it's all that I can do. I can't lead dogs, carry a gun or backpack. Once/if you can get it on your shoulders and get your feet under you, you have it licked. I would recommend NOT putting it down once you get going because getting it back on your back is tough. Once they are gutted you simply tie their front and back legs together and once you get them up your shoulders are under their armpits. The bad part is their head is flopping around and you will be covered in blood from head to toe.

Make sure if you have the bear on your shoulders that the bear has plenty of orange on him so someone doesn't decide to shoot it again.
