No, you buy the license applicable to the wepon you are using.

So if I continue to muzzleload thru gun, can I kill 3 does a day with my muzzy without having to buy the type 94.

no. you still need the type 94 to shoot does with ANYTHING during G/M/A season.

I may have just learned something; didn't know that you had to have the 94 for ML or A, i thought it was for gun only.

You must have a type 94 or a sportsman's license to kill does during the gun/muzzleloader/archery season no matter what unit you are in. They are considered special season antlerless hunts that coincide with a portion of the statewide season for antlered deer.

you don't during muzzleloader and archery seasons. just during G/M/A no matter which you use.

The 94 is a permit, which applies to the season/"hunt.". That is why it applies regardless of weapon during G/M/A.

So, let me get this straight.......If I buy my big game archery, I dont have to buy another big game license, as long as i continue using my bow??? Even when seasons change?

Correct.
But, if you participate in any of the Special Season antlerless hunts held during the G/M/A season you would need the type 94 permit.

There is not a big game tag.
There are weapon specific big game LICENSES. You need only the appropriate one for the weapon you are using.
A type 94 permit is not required in the M/A season to take antlerless deer. It is required to take antlerless deer in the Special Season hunts that begin when the G/M/A season opens on Sat. Those hunts are open the entire season in Unit L, and are varying lengths in the other units. They are not open in all counties, so you need to check the list on page 26 of the HG.

in more simply terms for anyone still confused...u do not need a type 94 during muzzloader or archery season...u only need it when gun season opens weither u use muzzloader, archery, or gun(DURING THE GUN SEASON)... and if u hunt with (ONLY) bow all season u only need a bow license and if u (ONLY) hunt with muzzloader u only need a muzzloader license so on!!
i only hunt with muzzloader and hunt public land(so i have to buy my type 94 anyways) so cost me right around 50$ to hunt

If you dont want to shoot any does and just want to go after a buck......do you still need the type 94?

You only need the Type 94 permit to participate in Special Season antlerless hunts OR to hunt on nonquoata WMA hunts.

Not totally correct.
If you hunt on a nonquoata WMA hunt during the archery or muzzleloader seasons you would need the Type 94 permit.
