Had a dud go off Tuesday evening. Probably due to moisture but when I shot it didn't sound right and 2 other guys texted me and said it didn't sound right to them either. Thankfully only a doe. Next day my buddy had 3 nice bucks come in at 20yds. At least 2 were 8pts. When he shot the primer went off but not the powder. Pyrodex is no longer in my gear. Switching to BH209 if I can't locate a stainless savage smokeless.

Hate the second safety, and always keep you mzl gear current and fresh.

I have muzzelloader hunted since the 80's.I refuse to get my weapon in rain or drizzle for this reason.Dont take much for a misfire even with the new inlines.

Sit 4 hours in the rain one day this week. Brought the gun home and used the compressor to blow the water out of the hinges and oiled it. Took a doe the next morning with the same load from the day in the rain. This Optima has yet to miss fire due to weather.
