I agree with much of this analysis. As much as some people want to took at everyone as "Americans", the demographics can't be ignored. More and more people are voting for their race and gender and not for the country.

Obama's demographic edge

The makeup of the country is changing dramatically. Romney did even worse among Hispanics than McCain. That's a really bad statistic. Republicans need to adapt to a changing American population, and quickly. When Obama signs immigration reform legislation this term he will be a hero to Hispanics across the country and Democrats will solidify the support of Hispanic voters even further. Republicans need to find a way to take some of the credit for immigration reform or they will lose even more of the Hispanic vote and will NEVER win the Presidency and certain Senate seats ever again. Some form of amnesty is almost a given now. Republicans can continue to resist it, but they will pay dearly for doing so. I think the best they can hope for is a compromise where Democrats agree to finally secure the border for real in return for Republicans agreeing to some type of amnesty. Many Hispanics are socially conservative. They have strong family values and most of them are devoted Christians. Republicans need to tap into this. It's the only way they are going to be able to defeat Democrats in the future.

Latin Americans have cozied up with many Marxists. The demographic trend with Hispanics does not bode well for America's future. The Republican party needs to find a way to make inroads, and badly.

the next go-round, unless there's another one running, you will not see black votes above 5%.

Legalizing more brown voters is no answer for a return to a conservative rule. The immigrants are coming here because their country sucks and they can come here to get some handouts in far greater proportion to any work they will have to do. The Republicans rolled out tons of black and Hispanics during the convention illustrating the American Dream. Republicans have placed elected blacks and Hispanics in prominent positions. Hispanics went to Obama over 70% and blacks nearly 100%.

The tipping point was after 9/11. The Republican President and Congress could have passed sweeping immigration reform in the wake of 9/11. Instead, they chose to invade Iraq and run up deficits. I don't have the answer but amnesty will only make the problem worse.

I think it is more an issue of changing pockets. From our pocket to theirs. Most of us come from a culture where hard work is honored and gets you ahead in life. With hard work you can acquire the things you want. We take pride in taking care of our families on our own.

But there is another culture that avoids work and they are enabled to do so by liberal policies. It is far more enticing for them to simply use the government to take the fruits of someone else's labors than it is to discipline themselves to become productive and self reliant. What used to be charity is now their "fair share." This all started when we began to pay people for not working. In effect those of us who produce are slowly becoming slaves to those who don't, with our only choice being the acceptance of servitude, or to lower ourselves to their level and become one of them.

It is IMO not a race issue, it is a cultural issue. The truth is, without white trash Obama couldn't have won.

It is not just the Latinos, people from every demographic has cozied up to Socialist/Marxists, but the problem is most are not engaged enough to know what they are cozying up to—and they don't care as long as they are getting their "stuff"...and that is the problem. They would vote for a baby-eating, purple pig from Mars as long as they think that pig would secure their "stuff" for them. In short it is not about a party or an ideology—it is about who will give them the most stuff that they don't have to pay for and spend as little energy as possible to get it.

I disagree with you. I would agree that, in general, the black and "white trash" communities have an unsolvable work ethic problem. Hispanics, illegal or not, are some of the hardest working folks in America. A friend of mine owns a cinder block company. He has carefully replaced most of his black employees with Hispanics. He says they are twice as productive for the same pay. Republicans need to target the Hispanic community. They can make inroads there with the right message and the right messengers. For the most part, the black community and lazy whites are a lost cause.

Unfortunately, 7 or 8 out of ten of these hard working Hispanics broke for Obama in this and every national election. This is with Rubio and Martinez receiving high profile roles in the Romney campaign and at the Republican Convention. Their community has been targeted; however, the only message they want to hear is amnesty. Which will only swing the demographic further to the Democrats. Not many conservative, uncorrupt, capitalsit, democracies nations south of our border.
