I have never tried to make it always had a family member make it. Would like to try it. Anyone got a good recipe to share? Thanks

Here are two I posted in this forum back in 2008 for someone else,

Oriental Jerky

4lbs venison, cut into strips
1/4c sugar
1/4c brown sugar
2c water
1c cider or cider vinegar
1/2c soy sauce
2ozs bourbon or brandy
1/2tsp onion powder
1/2tsp garlic powder
1tsp grated ginger
1tsp grated orange peel
6 white clovers (opt)

mix all ingredients, soak meat for 8hrs in cool place. remove and smoke or dry until desired dryness is achieved.


Sugar Cured Jerky

5lbs venison
1 1/2c sugar
1tsp br. sugar
15tsp salt
1 oz liquid smoke
1 tsp garlic
3tsp seasoning salt
1tsp black pepper

mix ingredients, soak venison @ 8hrs

dry at @ 150 degs for about 8hrs or until dry.

Here is another one


SPICY JERKY

4lbs venison
1/3c brown sugar
1/4c salt
2c soy sauce
1c water
1c red wine
1/2tsp pepper
1/2tsp garlic powder
1/2tsp tabasco sauce


soak venison @ 8hrs, smoke or dry until desired dryness is reached.

If your just starting out I would recommend u buy some of the pre made seasoning packets , easy and good
