You haven't given us enough information to give a definite answer to your question. You would need to talk with the area manager.

Not TWRA, but I have asked the question before settling a disagreement with a friend that thought it was 100ft from the road. There is no set distance, per se, but you cannot hunt from the road, fire from the road, fire from the right of way and you cannot fire over a road. Most right of ways are 10ft from the edge of the road.

There is no set distance. You cannot hunt from or shoot from or over the right of way or anything within the right of way. On something like a state highway/interstate it may be over 100 yards wide. The reason I say talk to the area manager is because this sounds like an area specific regulation and I don't know that area.

the 10ft thingy is not correct, road right-of-ways vary usually depending upon the projected traffic, being a Land Surveyor since 1973, the only sure way is to find it documented in writing, this is recorded in the courthouse or by right-of-way markers, if there is no recorded right-of-way such as many "rural or secondary" roads are, these are the roads maintained by the county highway department, these have no set width and the back of the road side ditch is as far as they will maintain unless land owner permission is given to the county highway dept
