This may have been discussed before, I'm sure it has....
I was hunting my spot back in a pine thicket on Saturday... My buddy was a couple hundred yards away in another small patch of woods.... He told me that he caught a flash of light a couple times from the thicket where I was.... The sun had to be just right, but it made sense to me that the stainless barrel was reflecting light...
Anybody else ever thought about this?.... Any suggestions?

This is my first time with a SS muzzleloader or any SS gun....It just never occurred to me....

I was thinking the same thing Sun night.
Sitting in the stand and everything is nice a green/brown around me, even my rifle stock. But the SS barrel really stood out.
So, the barrel got a makeover with a nice wrap of camo tape. $5 bucks and problem solved.

I was going to say McNett camo form tape. It doesn't stick to the barrel. It does have a strong odor, so I would soak with scent killer and let dry before you apply it. If you get basic digital camo, you can get it on ebay for the price mentioned. The patterns (mossy oak, realtree, etc) are 3 times higher.

It only sticks to itself. It has no adhesive. It's like cloth tape they use to wrap ankles. If it gets wet, you should take it off and let it dry completely, and you can put it on just like before.

I'm afraid that would catch on fire on my AR. I use the slide fire a lot and that barrel gets hot.

a stainless barrel reflects no more than a shiny blued barrel. the bluing on my winchester 270 is much more reflective than any of my stainless guns. nickel is another thing all together.
