Removing Savage Sights?

I got it lined up yesterday and thanks for all the help everyone.
Wondering on how to remove factory sights. I removed the fron one, but the screw stuck up from barrel due to length. ANy suggestions?

I just left the screw out once I removed mine..

Midway sells plug screws to fill the holes, or if you have a gunsmith close they may have some.

The plugs are cheap or some have just used parrafin wax to plug them up to keep crud out. I personally like to use the plugs and ant-iseize them in case you wanted to put them back on at some point or sell the gun.
