Where normal doesn't happen when he hunts with you?

Its never gonna be "deer broadside at 50 yards, perfect shot, deer goes down in sight"?

Well, last year this guy put us on the "tracking job of a lifetime" that involved over 1+ miles of blood tracking a gut shot doe?

Well, this year... opening morning of muzzleloader, have some small bucks moving - let em go. Hear a few shots to the south and a few minutes later watch a couple bucks come crashing out of the brush. Back one jumps the fence and heads to our property. He's a small deer, but is limping badly so I decide to take him. I dropped him with a 110 yard shot to the shoulder.

Only later do I realize that this deer has already been shot today once, in the front right leg/brisket, and is not having a good day.

Needlees to say, I watched a guy drive his truck all over his field looking for something. Never occurs to me he shot this deer I am gutting. (didnt' discover the second entrance wound until processor skinned him)

So, I got to put some meat in the freezer but it also happens to be the biggest gunshot wound I have ever seen in my life! Especially from a muzzleloader!

Seriously, how about a normal hunt dude!?!? \:\)

For the record, Ive used it for several years with nothing like this, but it is a TC shockwave, .45 sabot

you said you noticed that it had already been shot in the front right leg. That exit whole is on the front right leg. I wonder if that first bullet wasn't stuck in that leg, and your bullet hit it and shattered both bullets cause that massive exit whole?

I've considered the exact same thing. Entrance holes were close enough
