Pawn shop in Shelbyville had one a week ago. Opticks were good. It did have some scratches.

The older ones were made in the Phillipines, new ones in China.

Simmons is not what it used to be.
The Whitetail Classic is still ok, I believe. I think it's still made in the Philippines.

you definately want one of the older ones. i have a 3.8x12x44 aetec that has been mounted on a savage muzzleloader for about 6 or 7 years and it has never lost zero...very happy with its performance!!!

Simmons had a fluke and made a run of scopes that weren't altogether crap, and they are hailed as a great scope. I would rather buy from a company with a good reputation.
