Shot a doe at 8:30 that I lost.

I had to walk through a prime bedding area to stay on her blood trail.

Did I ruin the bedding area?

Na. If you had bumped several out of it it might have taken a few days for them to use it again but its not ruined.

Did you ever find the doe?

Did the same thing this morning. Right at daylight had a buck coming out of the bedding area. Evidently he was quartering to me a little more than I thought. Long story short he made a mad dash right back to his "sanctuary" I waited about 30 min and got down and found 0 blood. I eased into the thicket and jumped him up. Found pretty good blood but eased out of there for 4 hours. Went back in and blood trailed hime for a hundred yds. or so and lost all blood sign. I knew what direction he was traveling though and after an hours search I found him. Looked like he had been dead for quite awhile, but still glad I waited. BTW, the bullet entered right behind the shoulder but exited through the guts, which kept the deer from bleeding externally. Sure was a nasty guttting job though.
I sure hated to have to go into that place, I jumped up a couple of other deer coming out. I don't think the spot is "ruined" but I will give it a good weeks rest before I hunt that spot again.
Deer have short memorises IMO, and after a few days of everthing setteling down usually go back to their old routines.
