if you could create food plots in any shape or direction what would it be? for me the prevailing winds are southwest.

I love long, narrow plots adjacent to thick cover. However, the shape of the food plot is irrelevant unless you have good entry/exit routes to it.

Personally, I love long, linear plots that zig-zag, with each straight section being only about 80 yards. Not only does this break the plot into smaller visual sections (allowing deer to potentially feed in one section that cannot be seen from another section), it cuts down on hunters attempting very long shots. Stands can be placedat at the "V" of each bend, allowing visual and shooting distances of 80 yards up each arm of the plot to the left and right.

that seems to defeat the purpose bsk, i want to be able to hunt the entire plot. i would always be thinking they were around the corner.

But it will keep deer using the plot. Shoot deer in a food plot a couple of times, and deer will stop using the plot during daylight.
