Anyone have any favorites loads? I just made an order from Midway USA for the forster ultra reloading dies, 2 shell holders, lee factory crimp die, and 140 gr hornady interlocks. I really like micrometer seating dies so I thougt I would try the forster since I have heard it is comprable to the Redding which I use for my 300 win mag.
I was thinking RL15 since I have a 308 that I plan on reloading for as well. Also, A&H Reloading has an equivalent military surplus powder for $75 for 5 lbs.

The 270 really likes the slower powders, especially with the 140gr and 150gr bullets. With 140gr Nosler Accubonds and SGKs I use 51gr IMR4350 for accuracy loads (less than book max), 52.5gr RL17 for hunting loads (right around a deductive book max), and have used IMR and H4831 in the past with great results. As with any load, check a printed or online manual such as alliantpowder.com for the reloder powders, or data.hodgdon.com for the IMR and Hodgdon recipes. Others may post others to look at, as well.

H4831, RL-19 are 2 good powders for 270.

The guy I bought my .270 from already worked up a load and gave me the info, so I am just using what he did since it works.
53.5 gr IMR4350 130gr Nosler ballistic tip CCD 200 large rifle primer OAL: 3.385
It shoots good on paper, but I haven't had the chance to try it on a deer yet. I did blow a pretty good hole through a coyote a little while back though

53.0 gr RL17 for 140 gr. bullet and 54.0 gr RL17 for 130 gr. bullet. These are book max loads.
RL22 is also very good.

I went with IMR4350 and 130 gr bullets just below published max. I got great accuracy with Sierra Game Kings and Nosler Ballistic Tips. NBTs are my choice for deer, and I've had quick kills without the infamous meat loss by putting the bullet in the ribs not the shoulder.

My pet load for my .270 is 55 gr IMR 4350 with 130 gr, Hornady Interlocks. Very accurate in my rifle and the terminal performance is great.

55 gr of IMR4350 and Hornady 130 interlock backed off the lands .10 is the favorite on my Savage 270. 55gr of IMR4350 is max for my rifle. Same load with 130 Hornady SST for faster opening bullet for deer and gives almost the same accuracy. Some 270s seem to give best groups loaded near max. Check carefully before reaching or exceeding max pressures as listed in reloading manuals.
