I had a struggle with Powerbelts.. Clean Barrel, dirty barrel, Swab between shots, I could never get any consistency in my CVA Optima W/100GR of 777......... Last night I shot three times with 250GR Shockwaves & put all three touching about 1/2 to the right of the bullseye... No swabbing or anything, just load & shoot......

Good shooting, it sounds like you are ready to hit the woods. Best of luck out there this weekend.

I swapped from the power belts this year as well . The shockwaves seems to be extremely more accurate . Hopefully I'll test one out tomorrow and see how they really perform .

Had the same issue with powerbelts, switched to Hornady FPB 350grains. Three shots at 100 yards all touching, great bullet.

Well I have been using shockwaves for the last 3 or 4 years. They have always hit the mark and are very accurate on the range. I have yet to drop a deer in its tracks with them, but when I used to shoot 240gr jhp in sabots all my deer just about died where they stood. I have shot two deer this year a nice buck and a doe yesterday and I found a decent blood trail on the buck but after 400 yards alas no deer. I hunted for hiim for the rest of the afternoon and went home sick feeling.
Yesterday shot a doe at 70 yards and she went straight down. I saw her kicking on the ground and thrashing around so I was just giving her time to expire, but oh no she gets up and hops off into the woods. I figured I would just wait her out and keep hunting.
Well when lunch time hit my hunting buddy and I went and found where they was on the ground and tore up some vegetatin because she was on the ground for at least 3 to 4 minutes. Then we went in the woods where I saw her go in and alas not one drop of blood on the ground and no deer in the woods. I am almost at the point of giving up this season. I cant stand thinking that I have wounded two animals and I have no meat to put in the freezer.
I guess what I am asking is are the shockwaves designed to be used with 150 grains. I only use 100gr and have noticed on my deer of the past seasons that the bullets arent really expanding all that much. I might just switch back to the good ol jhp because they used to put the deer down with just 90 grains in all of my older smokepoles.
