I've got the German kind, down to 12. Their 10 years old, anybody know where to buy some. Dixie gun works sells them, but the ATF has added a $27 fee to ship them. Bunch of crap. Thanks, RH

No. A Musket cap is much, much larger. The hottest No 11s you can get are the Winchesters that Wally World stock. You shooting proper Black or a substitute?

Just out of interest, if you can get the German ones (are we not allowed to say RWS?) go with them. CCI have reduced the power of their Musket caps as they're mainly used by reenactors & a hot charge isn't required. I'm told, by those who know these things, that they can be unreliable for hunting charges & pressures.

Kimber, that's a great looking gun. On all my sidelocks and even old inlines that shoot a #11, I change the nipple to a musket nipple so to shoot the bigger caps. Usually there is no modification needed and the hammer will strike the cap fine. Just get you a musket nipple to fit that gun and you wont be sorry. It's a cheap fix to get better ignition.

Robtattoo, I think the reason that CCI changed their Musket Caps is because of the number of "ears" on them. when they do the re-enactments there are alot of bystanders present and also they sometimes shoot in formation, one guy right beside the next guy and it cut down on the brass shrapnel when the gun was fired. I don't think they lowered the load but I definately agree that the Germans are ahotter cap, thats what I shoot.

Thanks! I'll look into that later today
