Mainly because the general voter base in the US thinks Romney is much more out of touch with average Americans than Obama even though Obama hasn't held up well in his first term.

Raised by his stepdad in Indonesia and documented to have been influenced by communists like Frank Marshall Davis. Likely a muslim but his private life, and educational background is shielded by a a corrupt complicit media. "Community organizer" which apparently means he has a license to practice racism and get away with it at will. Oh yeah, and he plays a heck of a game of golf. Often.
Yeah, he's really in touch with the average american isn't he.
