I have a Triumph that is hard to load. I have to use the Barnes EZ to load it without hammering the ramrod against something. Standard sabots give me no chance of a second shot. Is there something I can do to make it eazier to load. I have used bore butter--doesn't help. Is there something to make the barrel "open up"

Sounds like your barrell needs a thorough cleaning. Plastic residue left from sabots can build up in time and can cause hard bullet seating. Try running a brass brush through your barrell and seee if that helps.

I own one. Mag sabots are hard to load in mine. 240 xtps load easy and shoot good. I shoot 300gr Dead Centers in mine and I don't need to pound them in.
After each shot, lick a patch and swab your barrel.

Keep trying different bullets. I have a Triumph and the only ones I found to load easily are Hornady SST sabots. I had the exact same experience with Barnes -- just way too tight in the barrel.

The tighter the better. Try a couple different combos if you want a looser one.

Most Barnes bullets Mic out a little undersized. I think the problem is either your barrel needs a thorough cleaning, or you need a different sabot. Clean is super well and then try a Harvester black crush rib sabot.

As stated try some different sabots and if not already, try Blackhorn 209 powder. You can load many times in a row without cleaning compared to other powders. I use both Barnes and SST's but shoot them with a crushed rib sabot and not the one they come with in the package.

I agree. Got to have that engagement from the sabot to the rifling for accuracy.
