I have a cheap one that works great, but I hardly ever use it. I just use a sharp knife. Takes too long to clean up slicer.

I want one for slicing roasts(both after cooked for sandwiches & before for like Philly cheese steaks) also, I do pork butts/shoulders with a bacon cure and want to be able to make uniform slices with them.

Bought one from bass pro shops a couple years ago. Does a great job for my needs. But a little tricky to cut jerky with.

I bought this one,and its been really good to me.I cut 6 deer up with it last year. And 1 so far this year, and I can't complain about it.It is definatly a must have for making jerky.I'll pull whole roasts out,and leave them frozen and slice them real thin for jerky..

I got one from dicks used it one time and took it back. But I am use to commercial one so I knew it would not do what I wanted. I will buy a large commercial one some time used. The cheap ones do not have enough power from what I seen so far.

I work in the food industry. Go to a used kitchen supply store, I know there are two in Knoxville or watch Craigslist for restaurant equipment. Hobart and Globe are the best. Spend $250-300 and you will get a good one. Key is to keep it sharp using the attached sharpner and oil the glide on the meat tray. You can get replacement parts at Hubert.com or restaurantwarehouse.com. well worth the investment. I just got an old one from where I work and bought the needed parts for less than $100 public price and now I have a $1000 slicer that cost me in total $225
