I'm on my 3rd one now and it died like all the others. The first one I ever had our own buzz mcmanus gave me, when it gave out a bought another FoodSaver sealer under $100 and it died, and now my 3rd one that I paid around $130 for has died. SERIOUSLY! I use this thing when I process my deer and no other time at all. I clean it and store it properly as recommended. I figure this last vacuum sealer sealed maybe (5) deer for me.
What do I need to do here? Have you all had any better experiences with other types? Do I need to be looking at a commercial vacuum sealer? I'm not to the point that I want to use butcher paper - really don't want to to do that.

The only one I have ever had I never liked to begin with. They always seem to lose their vacume seal and everything freezer burns. I use freezer paper whenever butchering deer.

I have my original one for over 15 yrs now, with not one single problem I use it all the time for everything around the house. I even seal ammo in it..................LOL
I bought a new one @ a yr. or so ago, on a special from here that one of the other members posted, figured I would be needing it soon...............haven't even opened the new one yet.

I've had my current one for 3 years and have processed close to 20 deer (not just my kills) with it. Its the Rival brand I ordered from Amazon, but Wal mart has the same one and I like it, and it has good reviews on Amazon, which is something I always look at before I buy something like that. Plus its only about 50 bucks. Good luck with it.
(Btw this is my first ever post)
