Groups opposed to hunting could shut down hunting in large areas with a few feeders or food piles. Not a good law as it is.

And it has happened to some folks I know too.

If you want a change, contact you legislator and you wildlife commissioner. They are the only ones that can make changes. TWRA can only make suggestions.

The 250 yards is a bench mark. It still is and always has been an officers discretion. He is the one that is trained to decide whether or not you are hunting over bait. With that said the neighbor owns his property and he can do what he wants. No law saying he cant put feeder out. But law does say you cant hunt over bait. I know most want agree with that. But like with any law, sometimes it want benefit some people.

It's a big problem , I was faced with too, I look at it like this if your neighbor is making meth in his garage , should that dictate what u do on your own property ? Heck no ! In saying that I understand the problem Twra faces too . Hunters could just pour out bait across the line then say they didn't do it . There's only one answer . allow it or don't !

Look up your state sen, and reps and email the gov. You can also let the Commission know.
http://www.tn.gov/twra/comnames.html
You may want to help by developing an argument with facts and stats of why it would help or the harm the law does.
O an buy the way money talks so you may want to try get help with some sports stores that sale baiting supplies to help lobbying. Not saying that is right or wrong just stating the facts
