"To counter the severe slump in European sales, (Fiat CEO Sergio) Marchionne is considering building Chrysler models in Italy, including Jeeps, for export to North America. The Italian government is evaluating tax rebates on export goods to help Fiat."

Sure it worked wait the loan is to stop them from going into bankruptcy, then they did go into it but now turn a profit. Back to dem math. The fact is that Govt has no business bailing out companies and that is rep or dems. There is a thing called bankruptcy to allow for companies to fix there problems without closing the doors. This argument that all the auto factories would just shut there doors and stop producing is as stupid as saying all airlines close there doors every time they go through bankruptcy. Or lets talk farmers how many times they have to. But lets get what we want by scarring the uninformed people.
But tony to O's defense he did not start the ball rolling just gave it a large push.

Funny, I don't remember Chrysler sending me a check for getting bailed out with my tax dollars.

Didn't GM and Cr both get some money that was a loan, (needed to pay back), and some money that was transferred to them, (not a loan- no need to repay.)? Seems like the loan was smaller than the "other money". If this is true, it lets the companies say, "We repaid all the loans" which makes it seem like they gave back all the money that was provided to them from the government. Meanwhile, they were able to keep a ton of money. Am I having a false memory about this?
