Have a friend who lives in rural Shelby county on several acres that back-up to farmland. He says I can hunt on his land but I'm not sure about hunting with a muzzleloader/high-power rifle...
I think this may be limited by shooting a firearm within a certain distance from a county maintained road but wonder if I could get that confirmed.

The only regulation on roads is that you can't shoot on or across a public road. As long as the hunter is off the road right of way there is no TWRA violation.
