Listen to the old saying,we have 3 of these that are rusting within 24hrs. of cleaning. one been shot 2x and now doesn't close back everytime you try to breech it. Hammer doesn't always cock,got to slam it closed to get the hammer to cock!!But the rusting is something i've never seen. No good to talk to cva,thier the only ones who have ever cleaned a gun before. funny thing is they sure going out of thier way NOT to give me a number for the CEO. You can clean these 3 guns and 24hrs later they are growing hair. Had a guy to tell me that he has to clean his,then clean it before he goes hunting. And has to shoot it everytime he hunts because it can't be left loaded no time at all. Hell i remember leaving the old muskets loaded for weeks and never a problem at all. But it's like i said...you get what you pay for and i took the CHEAP way out.

Never seen a gun rust that was cleaned & oiled.maybe need drying out with a hair dryer before appling oil would help

I left my CVA loaded for 4 or 5 months last year after hunting. Finally got around to shooting it bis summer and there was not any rust in it.

great guns, poor cleaning IMO if they rust up the way yours has. Ive had mine going on 3 years and never any rust issues. Take a look at your cleaning/oil protection products before blaming the gun.

I see people that swear by Rem oil. I had issues with guns rusting after using as a protectant. I use Break Free CLP now, and I haven't had any more problems. The stuff has an odor, though...I'll stay off the topic of scents for a while.

my wolf does get rusty quick but never had any of the other troubles you mentioned

i never oil any muzzleloaders i have, clen with good ole hoppes and never have a problem only clean them once after the season an dont touch them until following season, i believe some just need to learn how to clean gun

Just buy a Knight, lol. I used to see recall ads for CVA, in the back of Outdoor Life and Field and Stream every time i picked up an issue. Have 2 Knights, and never had an issue in 14 years.
