I am about to under take my first Tennessee deer hunt (Thursday will be the first day I sit) and I have just a few quick questions, I can't find confirm the answer at the TWRA website.

1) As of the opening of muzzle loader season bow hunters must begin wearing the orange vest and hat?

2) The idea of online check has me a bit confused. Do I need to print a temporary tag till I register it? Do I just call as soon as I Can get a signal to get a transaction number? If I can't online register it before I drop it off at the processor what are my options?

3) What paperwork do I actually need to transport a deer kill?

4) The young lady at Walmart was friendly but not all that sure of what I needed to hunt deer in TN. I need both a hunting license and a big game license, even though I am strictly bow hunting? A type 001 and 010?

I really don't want to break any laws, so I want to make sure I do everything correctly. Thank you.

1. Yes.

2. You should have a temporary tag with your license unless you have a lifetime license. You invalidate that tag before moving or field dressing your deer. If you pre-pring a permanent harvest tag, you can call and then enter in the transaction #. Processors are not supposed to accept your deer until it has been checked out.

3. A properly invalidated temporary kill tag, and then permanent carcass tag after it is checked in.

4. You will need the type 001 and Type 010. If you continue to bow hunt during the g/m/a season, you will need a type 94 permit to participate in the Special Season antlerless hunts.

Thank you. I was thinking correctly on all except the last question. I'll buy all 3 types of permits then.

Two LICENSES and one PERMIT.

There is a differnce in TN between the two.

SCN do you ever think you are banging your head against the wall. I have looked in the book and it is clear they id what are lisc and what are permits but for some reason when we look at it that just doesn't registrar. You have them in different boxes different colors not sure what you could do to make it easier?

Just a grammatical error on my part, in WI we just call them all licenses or stamps, still trying to convert not only hunting styles but terminology to Tennessee.
