The Des Moines Register has NOT endorsed a Republican for president since 1972. This time it picked Romney for president for two very good reasons.
They did NOT ever endose Reagan either time, they went with first Carter and later for Mondale.
Like it or not but this is a very big deal in Iowa, that paper carries big clout and can easy pull the state.

WOW! No way I expected this. Obama has to see the writing on the wall.

The 4 major papers in Iowa all endorsed Romney. I'll be surprised if Obama wins Iowa this time around. If signs in yards is any indication, it's about 3 to 1 Romney compared to 4 years ago when Obama was in all over the place.

It also shows that out of all the endorsements of the last 100 years their record show that they aren't the best at guessing who will win.
Of all their endorsements they had a record of 14 to 9 where 14 of those they endorsed LOST.
Doesn't look like a good record IMO. Their picks haven't bode well in the past Republican OR Democrat.

Go back and look up the STATE and then post the record on which one won the STATE.
I posted in the original post that they had a lot of clot in their STATE.
Nobody said they were guessing who will win but who they endose, something you will never understand.
You are TRYING to say they are doing it NATIONALY and trying to pick the winner. Something they have never done nore has any newspaper done when it ENDOSES someone. If they want to post a article that picks the winner then they will write an article on that but you will never understand the difference.
Iowa was a toss up state now they will go to Romnay.

From the link. It is apparent that their record of endorsement hasn't been stellar. The ones they ENDORSED haven't done well because the majority LOST.
"Here are the presidential candidates The Des Moines Register endorsed in each election in the past 100 years:" • 1912: William H. Taft (R) - lost • 1916: Charles Hughes (R) - lost • 1920: No endorsement • 1924: No endorsement • 1928: Herbert Hoover (R) - won • 1932: Herbert Hoover (R) - lost • 1936: Alf Landon (R) - lost • 1940: Wendell Willkie (R) - lost • 1944: Thomas E. Dewey (R) - lost • 1948: Thomas E. Dewey (R) - lost • 1952: Dwight Eisenhower (R) - won • 1956: Dwight Eisenhower (R) - won • 1960: Richard Nixon (R) - lost • 1964: Lyndon B. Johnson (D) - won • 1968: Hubert Humphrey (D) - lost • 1972: Richard Nixon (R) - won • 1976: Jimmy Carter (D) - won • 1980: Jimmy Carter (D) - lost • 1984: Walter Mondale (D) - lost • 1988: Michael Dukakis (D) - lost • 1992: Bill Clinton (D) - won • 1996: Bill Clinton (D) - won • 2000: Al Gore (D) - lost • 2004: John Kerry (D) - lost • 2008: Barack Obama (D) - won

They're not predicting a win by endorsing Romney. They're saying VOTE FOR ROMNEY. Big difference.

So they've only backed one (R) in the last 40 years and he won.
Typical of liberals, traditionally back (D) and then call them a "Loser" because of their record of being on the wrong side of history when they break rank and go against you.

You can spin anything anyway you want, I choose to spin it as:
So they've only backed one (R) in the last 40 years and he won.
That in my spinnerometer = 100% Success rate at picking Republican presidential winners.
It's in picking the winning democrats that they need a little work.
