I guess we need to look for an increase in deer road kill and random day time activity to gauge the rut. I haven't noticed an increase in deer road kill yet.

IF you know a dispatcher at the Sheriffs office, that is a GREAT way to figure out when everything is spiking.

Yup. Seeing quite a few deer being hit by cars in Nashville. Really picked up in the last few days.

My brother in cheatam co seen 9 different bucks today. 2 shooters but no shots, all chasing and pushing does except 2 shooters ,they were just cruising. He seen deer until around 1:00 then no more.

Taking my son to school and saw a small buck running wide open across a field. In the next field were two doe.
Nice frost on the grass this morning.
I saw the same thing around 5pm this afternoon just outside of Franklin on Columbia Ave.a nice 8 in a field running towards the next field that was full of does.
Anyone know how it's looking in North Lewis and Southern Hickman Co.?

Williamson county. I had a 6 year old I've been trying to kill for 2 years dog a doe past me this morning at 7:30am. This is the first time I've ever seen the deer in person. No shot opportunity. This afternoon I had a great 3 year old work a scrape at 15 yards then right before dark I had another shooter work his way behind me at just 15 yards but couldn't get a shot; all I needed was two more steps on the same trail and he broke off and went directly away from me.
I've never had two shooters within bow range in one day ever until now. Heck I've never seen two shooters in one day period. I'm lucky if I get to see one all season.
I'm still not seeing any busted racks in pictures so our deer aren't rocking in rolling yet but they are close.
