I searched the guide for the word "radio" and came up with no results.
If it was a rule, it has been removed

The wife and I use them all the time. Sometimes we are a mile or so apart and it just gives both of us piece of mind knowing that if somthing happens we can get in touch with each other.
I'm in the same situation as CATCHDAWG, no cell service in my area.
I could see where it "might" be illegal to relay deer movement, but we would never do that. ;\)

We used them for years before cell phones and I. Some areas recently that have no coverage. I haven't ever heard they were illegal. I certainly hope not or I've broken a game law. \:\(

Radios are legal. Bear hunters use them all the time.

The only time you can not use them is When hunting Elk , do to the tracking devices on animal ....also not able to use GPS as well.

I read that in the hunting guide on the page referencing the Elk.
Supposedly TWRA thinks they can help track where the Elk are because some of the have tracking collars. I'm not saying it's true , it's just what i read.

•The harvest location must be clearly marked with flagging tape. The location must be adequately marked so that TWRA employees can identify the harvest site. This must be accomplished by doing one of the following: ◦Providing GPS coordinates
◦Accompanying a TWRA employee to the harvest site
◦Flagging a trail that can be easily followed from the harvest site to a road

•Use or possession of electronic tracking equipment is prohibited.

Sounds like they want you to carry a GPS and no tracking equipment. Nothing about a 2 way radio

now that would be a good idea get a tracking system that you can track the collared deer and elk I am sure that would improve your success rate \:\)

It is funny they have to make some laws and signs. I was hunting with my daughter and we saw signs that said no dumping?

When would it be ok to dump your garbage anyplace but the dump?
