If I have one sighted in at 25 yrds to where the group is punching the same hole, I am shooting a encore with 100 grains of triple 7 with t/c 250grain shockwave bullet, Where do you think it will hit at 100 yrds? Plus or minus in inches from the bullseye? With a 25 yd zero it "should" be about an inch high at 50 yards and come back to zero at 100 yds. That's how my M/L shoots anyway. [Rem 700 shooting 100 gr. of 777 with 250 gr. Shockwave] To be on the safe side you need to verify where yours is hitting at all of your hunting ranges.

I shoot 90 gr. Triple 7 with a 350 gr. Maxi-Hun ter and its about 1 1/2 inches low at 100 yards. All the deer I get a shot at are at 60 yards or less. I used to shoot a T/C break a way sabot with a Hornady 240 gr. XTP and 90 gr. Triple 7 and sighted in dead on at 25, it was pretty much dead on at 100.

I had a guy chew me out for zeroing mine at a 100yrds he said zero at 25 and you should know where it will hit at a 100yrds. He keep missing deer till he finly figered out his bullets where going into the dirt. I my know where it is at at 25 I sure want to know for sure at a 100 or what ever I am going to shoot. I even see where my P-dog guns are at a 1000, even thoe I have charts to tell me where to hold.

thats old military rule of thumb for iron sights, the bullet would cross the line of sight at 25 yards

That's the way "my" M/L shoots. No two rifles will shoot the same. There are a lot of variables involved. Barrel length, bullet weight, powder charge, barrel diameter, etc. Good to see you checked it out though. Now you "know" where your rifle hits at these ranges and you will have more confidence when the time comes.
