Can you tell me what TWRA considers "farmland"? I own 59 acres of mountain land that we use for hunting. I have it classified as greenbelt at the courthouse. I had 2 foresters walk over it and draw up a management plan for tree management and wildlife management. I have 2 food plots, but do not "farm" it. It is all forest land. Thanks.

timber land is considered as "Tree Farming" Yep, my "farm" is also enrolled in the Green Belt program, and I am classified as a timber harvester. Neither me, my wife or children are required to have a license hunting on my property.

For landowner exemption, you just have to own land. Is there something else about farmland somewhere that I'm missing?

farmland, whether you own or rent or possible use, possible use means some type of rent or lease, certian restrictions might apply, a tax advisor or accountant can answer these questions better, I fit in under all of the above and have done so for many years

Thanks, everybody. I thought that, but just wanted to clarify now that my kids are getting of hunting age.

Anything that is taxed under Green Belt should qualify as farmland.
