I'm using the Barnes Expander MZ in my Vortex. Very happy, accurate and dumps a deer quickly. Have been using Triple 7 pellets, but switching to Blackhorn this year.

I guarantee u can make it shoot. First check all mounts and make sure the scope is good. 75 per cent of the time witht he muzzle loaders i have helped people with that wouldnt shoot were bad scopes. If all that checks out begin shooting with 60 grains of powder if it wont shoot accurately with that change bullets. when u find a bullet that groups well start easing up powder in 5 grain increments til groups spread apart. then bakc up 5 grains and theres ur load.

i was sighting my traditions buckhunter in this weekend and could not get it to group at all. Then i remembered seeing someone had mentioned that where you lay the gun on the rest will affect accuracy. i moved the point of rest from near the front of the forearm to back near where the bolt attached the forearm to the barrel. I instantly got a 2.5 inch group at 100 yards.

You might want to try the Hornady bullets in the red sabots. I use the 250 grain size. They group real well out of my Traditions muzzleloader. Not sure what bullet you are currently using, but I couldn't get Powerbelts to stay within 8 inches of each other. Once I changed to Hornady my groups got a lot better, and are now within an inch or two depending on how dirty the barrel is.

100 grains of triple 7 is equal to about 120 grains pyrodex. I can almost guarantee if u drop ur powder down ur groups will tighten up.
