So Bass Pro only has blued barrels in the 308 for the Tikka T3. I do a pretty good job cleaing and keeping my guns oiled.
Will a blued barrel rifle make a dependable hunting rifle vs the stainless?

Have you checked budsgunshop.com for the stainless rifle that you are looking for? I would bet that they have it for a really good price. I have a few blued guns, but I do like the idea of having a ss model if its a little rainy when I go out.

I have both and prefer the stainless just for nastier weather. Other than that its just personal preference.

I own both, I doesn't matter as long as you keep the gun oiled, the stainless will rust if you don't oil it.

Good bluing is very tough. Just wipe it down after handling bare handed. The oils on your skin will do more to it than water will. And yes, stainless can rust and corrode.

The only time I can tell a difference is with a muzzleloader or in areas with really high humidity. I used to live in a basement apartment. The moisture did a number on some of the blued rifles I had at the time. It didn't seem to affect the stainless ones.

Bottom line here is, if you don't take care of your guns it doesn't matter. I have 5 guns in SS, 3 mzldrs/2 handguns.........yes, they are a little more forgiving than than the other 20-30 guns I have in the safe, but if you wipe them down, clean them and make sure they are cared for, it is a matter of personal choice.
I have hunted in weather that most guys wouldn't leave there house unless forced to, with blued guns............not one has a speck of rust on them. I am a firm believer/user of Rem Oil, it is all I have ever used through the yrs and it has treated me and my guns well.
