I am wanting to take my kids to South Cherokee on the juvi hunt next weekend but, I have questions. My 11 yr old has her hunter saftey course and I know she doesn't need a license until she's 13 but, does she need a permit to hunt S. Cherokee? Also my 6 yr old son does NOT have his hunters saftey class but, has his life times. Can he hunt and if so does he need anything?
Thanks

Yes, your daughter will need either a Type 95 Cherokee WMA permit or the Type 94 Nonquota/Special Season permit to hunt there. If you plan on taking her on the Special Season Antlerless hunts during the regular gun season, you need to get the Type 94 that will cover her then as well.
You son is covered for the permits with his Lifetime license, and he does not need the HS until age 10. Both must be accompanied by a nonhunting adult that can take immediate control of the hunting weapon. You may take both of them, but they have to be where you can control both weapons.
