The question I have is, is the front sight base on a Mosin Nagant 91/30 a milled part of the barrel or is it soldered on? I know the sight and globe are dovetailed into the base. My question is the base.

Going on memory (which isn't very good now days),I think it's soldered.Like I said though,going on memory.
